Electric Operations Supervisor

Hybrid - Fernandina Beach, FL

Your role in our success will be…

The Electric Operations Supervisor provides leadership to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient completion of work relating to the construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of the electric distribution and transmission systems. Ensures effective coordination among and between individuals and departments in the district/division. Actively promotes and enforces a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture motivating employees to deliver the best possible customer experience.

What you’ll be working on…

  • Sets safety expectations with employees resolving safety issues/concerns in an appropriate and timely manner. Communicates safety lessons learned and promotes continuous learning of safe work methods, practices, and procedures. Accountable for the safe execution of field activities.
  • Assists in the preparation of the business unit’s budgets, forecasts and financial models
  • Ensures local union contracts and agreements are adhered to and works with managers and employees to resolve any grievance or concern in a timely manner. Works with managers and employees to resolve grievances and concerns in a timely manner
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves time, expense, materials, and other company records in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines
  • Develops relationships with other electric utility companies, agencies, associations and vendors necessary to contribute to the success of the business unit
  • Ensures a safe work environment for all employees and maintains good employee morale and relations with both union and non-union personnel
  • Demonstrates and role models a customer-first attitude seeking to quickly resolve customer issues by collaborating with employees and other departments
  • Promotes positive company recognition in the community by participating in city, county, community and civic activities within the business unit
  • Ensures job packages are construction ready, and the material availability is adequate to meet the construction schedule
  • Maintains fleet vehicles and ensures inspections and certifications are current
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Manager, Electric Operations
  • Performs civic or charitable volunteer activities.

Who you are:

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Technical Field preferred (Engineering)
  • Five (5) years of related experience is required. Previous experience in electric distribution is preferred. Previous experience in a supervisory role is also preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have effective communication skills both, oral and written.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Must have a high level of initiative and be able to be self-directed.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • The ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
