Job description

AI Transformation Manager | Hybrid
Help Shape How Work Gets Done at Leatherman
Leatherman is building the next generation of AI-enabled ways of working-and we're looking for an AI Transformation Manager to help lead that change across the company.
This is not a deeply technical AI development role. It is a change leadership and workflow transformation role for someone who understands how to use AI as a practical business capability.
You will partner directly with functional leaders, cross-functional teams, and frontline employees to rethink how work is done, redesign workflows, establish measurable outcomes, and help AI-enabled practices become the default rather than the exception.
If you are energized by enterprise transformation, process improvement, facilitation, coaching, measurable business impact, and helping people adopt new ways of working, this may be the opportunity for you.
Position Summary
Leads end-to-end workflow transformation across the company, partnering with functional leaders to reimagine how work is done with AI as a central capability. Creates the methodology, the workshops, the cadence, the champion network, and the measurement system that turns the AI enablement strategy into lived practice. Works directly with each cross-functional team and department leader to co-lead strategic workflow redesigns.
This is fundamentally a change leadership role with AI fluency, not an AI specialist role with change management bolted on. The work succeeds when AI-enabled ways of working become the default, not the exception.
What You'll Do
Transformation Methods & Leadership
  • Design and operate the end-to-end workflow redesign methodology used across Leatherman, including kickoff workshops, value mapping, future-state design, and phased implementation planning.
  • Co-lead cross-functional workshops with strategic project teams and functional leaders.
  • Maintain the transformation pipeline cadence, bringing in new workflows quickly and often.
  • Drive agile methods across redesign projects, including 80/20 MVP, pilot-then-scale, and rapid iteration.
  • Partner with the AI Platform Lead during workshops to ensure technology feasibility and architectural fit with the redesigned workflow.

Project Management
  • Work directly with functional leaders and frontline workers to map current state, identify friction and pain, baseline metrics, and design the ideal future state.
  • Translate business problems into workflow redesigns that produce measurable P&L impact and ROI.
  • Develop and coach functional leaders on transformation methods, creating a network of AI champions across the organization.
  • Maintain the workflow backlog, intake pipeline, and quarterly progress scoreboard reported to the leadership team.
  • Translate experience with AI-enabled work into reusable playbooks that increase AI fluency across the organization.

Stakeholder Partnership
  • Build trusted partnerships with organizational leaders and frontline workers across the company.
  • Help each leader commit to a portfolio mix of growth and cost initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance to baseline and measure improvements on every redesigned workflow.

Continued Learning
  • Stay informed and ahead of industry practices in change management, AI transformation, process redesign, and operational excellence through research, conferences, and continued personal development.

What Will Help You Succeed
  • Drives results - Consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances.
  • Manages complexity - Makes sense of complex, high-volume, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems effectively.
  • Communicates effectively - Develops and delivers communications that create clear understanding across different audiences.
  • Collaborates - Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Persuades - Uses compelling arguments to gain the support and commitment of others.
  • Customer focus - Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
  • Plans and aligns - Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Instills trust - Gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Nimble learning - Learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as opportunities to improve.
  • Tech savvy - Anticipates and adopts innovations in business-building digital and technology applications.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading change initiatives, process redesign, or digital transformation in an enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end workflow redesign, value stream mapping, and process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Direct experience with at least one large-scale digital transformation initiative.
  • Working fluency with AI tools; hands-on personal AI use is required, but a deep technical AI background is not.
  • Coaching and mentorship experience with managers and frontline staff.
  • Strong familiarity with agile delivery methods.
  • Manufacturing, consumer products, or operationally driven business experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Who This Role Is For
This opportunity may be a strong fit for someone with experience in:
  • Enterprise change leadership
  • Digital transformation
  • Operational excellence
  • Lean or Six Sigma
  • Workflow and value-stream redesign
  • Agile transformation
  • Business process improvement
  • AI adoption and enablement
  • Organizational capability building
  • Cross-functional facilitation and coaching

You do not need to be an AI engineer. You do need to be comfortable using AI tools, helping others adopt them, and translating business challenges into practical, measurable improvements.
Our Hiring Process
At Leatherman, we believe a résumé tells only part of your story. As part of the application process, you will be asked several thoughtful questions about your experience, approach, and accomplishments.
Please allow approximately 30-60 minutes to complete the application in detail. Your responses are a key part of our selection process and are reviewed alongside your résumé.
Ready to Lead Meaningful Transformation?
This is an opportunity to build more than a program. You will help establish the methods, habits, capabilities, and internal champion network that shape how AI-enabled work becomes part of everyday life at Leatherman.
Apply today and help turn AI strategy into measurable, lasting change.
