About the role
Learning Pool is seeking to hire a Contracts Paralegal with at least two years' experience in a similar role to join our legal team on an initial 9 month contract.
Working in our busy legal team this role is ideal for someone with ambition, drive and commercial acumen. We will provide support to the successful candidate to help develop their skills in a fast paced, high-tech environment.
Location: Remote (US). Candidates located in the PT time zone are strongly preferred.
What you will be doing
Roles and responsibilities include:
  • Providing a full range of legal support services including SaaS contract reviewing, drafting and negotiation
  • Reviewing other legal documentation such as NDAs, DPAs, information security documents, tender documents, and a variety of associated policies
  • Using a wide range of specialised knowledge to provide legal support services in a timely manner
  • Collaborating and building relationships with other areas of the business such as Commercial, Infrastructure and Operations
  • Collaborating and building relationships with outside Counsel as an when required
  • Negotiating supplier contracts as the business requires to ensure their suitability
  • Providing support on other business and legal issues as they arise

Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Proven track record: You will have at least two years' experience negotiating a high volume of commercial contracts.
  • Commercial acumen: You will thrive on delivering high quality commercial advice acting as a trusted advisor to our business.
  • Communications: You will have outstanding written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organisation skills: Your time management capabilities will be exceptional, with the ability to successfully manage a high volume of work, competing deadlines and multiple interested parties.
  • Delivering with others: You will have a positive, can-do attitude and have the ability to build relationships across the Learning Pool team.
  • Critical thinking: You will have strategic thinking, planning and creative problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail: You will be detail orientated.

Although not essential, it would be highly desirable to have experience in the following:
  • Experience negotiating SaaS or software contracts
