Job description

Tampa General Hospital's Cardiovascular Center has six cardiac catheterization laboratories, including two EP labs and seven interventional radiology suites. TGH was most recently awarded full Atrial Fibrillation with Electrophysiology Services Accreditation status from SCPC for its expertise and commitment to quality patient care.  

Under the supervision of the EKG Manager and according to established policies and procedures for various age groups of patients, performs cardiac-related procedures/tests.

  • Under general supervision and following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, performs cardiac-related procedures/tests. 

  • Performs tests that include but are not limited to EKG's, assist in stress testing, monitoring digital EKG system and assigning orders appropriately. 

  • Documents appropriate data during the procedure. 

  • Assures patient rights. 

  • Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital and the principles of FOCUS-PDCA.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of TGH training within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion of EKG school preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and general public. 
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions in completing work duties Attributes include: attention to detail, physical stamina, interpersonal skills, computer technical skills and critical thinking.
