We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician in Christiansburg, VA.

Shift:
  • 24-hour in-house call shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
  • 4–8 shifts per month requested
  • Approximately 8 shifts per month of coverage needed
  • Two consecutive 24-hour in-house call shifts may be worked

Position Details:

Patient Population: Obstetric and gynecologic patients

Setting:
  • Hospital
  • Clinic
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Acute-care medical center
  • Level II Nursery
Responsibilities:
  • Provide all OB services on Labor & Delivery
  • Provide unassigned OB/GYN call coverage
  • Manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
  • Perform minor gynecologic surgical procedures
  • Manage residents
  • Support a busy practice averaging 70–75 deliveries and 20–25 non-obstetrical surgeries per month
Required Procedures:
  • OB/GYN core procedures
  • Minor gynecologic surgery
Support Staff:
  • 5 Board-Certified OB/GYN physicians
  • 5 Advanced Clinical Practitioners
  • 1 Certified Nurse Midwife
  • Medical staff of approximately 280 physicians
Days Per Month:

4–8 24-hour in-house call shifts per month; approximately 8 shifts/month needed

On-Call/Weekends:
  • 24-hour in-house call
  • Day, night, and weekend coverage
  • Two consecutive 24-hour call shifts permitted
Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology; Board Certification preferred
  • Active Virginia medical license required
  • DEA required
  • 2–3 years of experience required; 5+ years preferred
