Job description

Position information:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at Shangri La. As a DSP, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. DSP's interact directly with clients, and this position is an attractive option for people who are interested in healthcare as a career.
Position Details:
Status: Full Time and On Call/Relief available
Location: Salem, OR
Starting wage: $20.14 an hour (Night shifts additional $.75 an hour)
Wage Scale: $20.14 - $24.50
What You'll Do:
Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy home environment
Provide compassionate care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care
Assist with with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
Meal and snack preparation
Light household duties
Provide mobility and transfer assistance
Administer medications
Accompany clients to community outings and activities (fun day trips!)
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must pass a background check
Have a valid driver's license (for Day or Swing shifts) and clean driving record
