What is an Edt?

EDT stands for Electrodiagnostic Technologist. These professionals are trained to conduct tests that measure electrical activity in the nervous system, such as EEGs (electroencephalograms) and EMGs (electromyograms). They work closely with neurologists to help diagnose conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. EDTS typically work in hospitals, clinics, or specialized diagnostic labs. Their work is crucial for identifying neurological disorders and monitoring patients’ progress during treatment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Edt?

To thrive as an Editor, you need strong language proficiency, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of grammar, style, and editorial standards, often supported by a degree in English, journalism, or communications. Familiarity with editing software such as Adobe InCopy, Microsoft Word Track Changes, and content management systems is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills help editors stand out by facilitating smooth workflows and effective feedback. These abilities are crucial for ensuring high-quality, error-free content that meets publication deadlines and maintains brand or organizational standards.

What are some common challenges faced by Edt members, and how can they be addressed?

Editorial team members often face tight deadlines, balancing multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring consistent quality across all content. Effective communication within the team and with other departments, such as marketing or design, is crucial to streamline workflows and avoid bottlenecks. Utilizing project management tools and establishing clear editorial guidelines can greatly help in overcoming these challenges and maintaining high standards.

Job Overview

Komatsu has a rare opportunity for a Senior Manager of Technical and Operator Training focused on our Electric Drive Trucks!

The Senior Manager will oversee the development and delivery of instructional content supporting Komatsu Electric Drive Truck products. This includes managing training personnel, coordinating course creation, and ensuring materials are current and aligned with product updates.

The role involves scheduling training events, collaborating with subject matter experts and customers, and managing third-party content development.

This is a leadership role for someone who brings both technical credibility and strong people-management capability. The ideal candidate understands surface mining equipment, electric drive truck systems, and technical troubleshooting, but is equally comfortable managing people, building relationships, coordinating training schedules, supporting team development, and driving projects forward.
The person in this role will not be expected to personally create all training content. Komatsu already has instructors and content development resources in place. Instead, this leader will focus on managing the team, organizing and expanding training delivery, advocating for the value of the training function, supporting major customer and regional needs, and helping build a roadmap for future curriculum and competency development.
While we prefer candidates based in Arizona, we are open to candidates based in UT, NV, and WY.

  • Support the rollout and execution of competency development programs tied to Komatsu mining products and service skill expectations.
  • Build and maintain training roadmaps that identify where the organization needs to expand curriculum, update materials, improve delivery, and support technician development.
  • Visit regions, branches, and mine sites to observe training delivery, gather feedback, understand current customer environments, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Help promote and communicate the value of technical and operator training across the organization so the team remains visible, utilized, and aligned with business needs.
  • Support career development and succession planning within the training team, including preparing for future workload growth, retirements, and potential team expansion.
  • Oversee basic budget responsibilities.
  • Create and deliver presentations that showcase the training team's capabilities, services, and impact.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years' experience working in the heavy construction or surfacemining industries.
    • Prior technican experience working on electric drive trucks, shovels, drills, or electric wheel loaders is required
    • Knowledge of technical troubleshooting concepts, including electrical systems, mechanical systems, high voltage, low voltage, diagnostics, and component-level equipment support.
    • Experience developing/conducting technical training programs is prefered but not required
    • Management experience preferred but not required
  • Travel: <25% domestic and international travel
