AMJ is seeking a proactive and organised Editorial Coordinator to manage and commission content across our journal portfolio. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop or advance their editorial career within a fast-paced, growing organisation.

The ideal candidate will bring a background in life sciences, strong editorial judgement, and a keen interest in content development. This is a varied role encompassing end-to-end journal coordination, content commissioning, and oversight of the peer review process, requiring excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and coordinate end-to-end journal pipelines, working closely with internal teams and external contributors to ensure content is delivered, reviewed, and published on schedule.

  • Drive content commissioning by engaging with key opinion leaders, applying research insights and subject-matter awareness to identify and secure high-quality contributions.

  • Lead the development and editorial refinement of journal and newsletter content, including congress reports, expert interviews, and news pieces.

  • Coordinate and manage the peer review process, acting as the central point of contact between authors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members to ensure timely and effective decision-making.

  • Oversee congress coverage by coordinating attendance (in-person and virtual), liaising with contributors, and ensuring delivery of timely, high-quality reporting on key highlights.

  • Plan and deliver webinars and podcasts end-to-end, liaising with subject-matter experts and managing scheduling, logistics, and execution.

  • Working closely with leaders in the pharma industry.

  • Act as a central liaison between Editorial, Design, and Client Services teams, ensuring smooth workflows, clear communication, and timely publication delivery.

Experience Required

  • Biomedical Science or Life Science degree

  • Excellent writing and English language skills

  • Strong IT Skills – MS (Excel and Word)

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Enthusiastic and dedicated team player

  • Ability to learn quickly and manage/prioritise a high-volume workload linked to tight deadlines

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to take instruction

  • Adheres to company quality standards

  • Passionate about medical publishing

  • Driven and ambitious individual who has a ‘Gold Medal Winner’ mindset

Key Information

  • Salary: $55,000

  • Reports to: VP of Content

  • Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri

  • Location: This role is based onsite in our Hallandale Beach office
