We are presently in a hybrid schedule, 2 days on campus and 3 days WFH

The Content Marketing Specialist's responsibilities including bringing the Libby brand to life through engaging editorial content, email communications, and storytelling that inspires reading and strengthens library engagement. This role leads the day-to-day editorial planning, content development, and audience growth efforts for Libby Life, Libby’s consumer-facing content hub, while ensuring content reflects Libby’s voice, brand standards, and business priorities. This position drives the development of trusted, high-quality content that connects readers with books, libraries, and reading recommendations across search, newsletters, social channels, and emerging AI-powered experiences. The role partners with internal subject matter experts, freelance contributors, and cross-functional teams to identify content opportunities and deliver editorial strategies that support audience growth, engagement, and retention.
 
Responsibilities:    
  • Own day-to-day editorial planning, content calendars, and execution for Libby Life content initiatives.
  • Coordinate content creation across internal contributors, subject matter experts, freelancers, and guest writers to ensure timely publication.
  • Serve as primary editor for contributors, providing feedback, coaching, and guidance to maintain content quality and brand standards.
  • Develop, write, edit, proofread, and optimize blog, newsletter, website, and marketing content that supports audience engagement and business objectives.
  • Recommend content, blog, and newsletter strategies that align with audience interests, seasonal opportunities, and marketing priorities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, approvals, and publication timelines to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Maintain and improve editorial workflows, documentation, style guides, and content governance processes.
  • Analyze content performance and audience trends to inform future content planning, optimization opportunities, and recurring editorial programs.
  • Drive content repurposing across blog, email, social, and website channels to maximize reach and value.
  • Apply SEO, AEO, and GEO best practices in partnership with the Digital Marketing Specialist to improve content discoverability across search and AI-powered experiences.
Requirements:    
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, Creative Writing, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in content strategy, editorial management, content marketing, publishing, journalism, blogging, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing editorial calendars, publishing schedules, and content workflows.
  • Strong writing, copyediting, proofreading, content development, and storytelling skills, including the ability to transform complex topics into engaging consumer-facing content.
  • Experience coordinating internal contributors, subject matter experts, freelancers, or external writers.
  • Knowledge of audience development, content engagement, newsletter strategy, content performance metrics, and content optimization best practices.
  • Experience working with content management systems and publishing platforms, with familiarity applying SEO, AEO, and GEO best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, competing priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and cross-functional partnerships; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
