Job description

We're looking for an Editorial Content Manager who wants to join one of the most ambitious, hard-working brand teams out there. We're truly obsessed with amplifying the stories of Healthcare Professionals (aka Awesome Humans), and the right candidate will be, too.ย

If you've been at this for a minute, maybe job descriptions with the words "rockstar" and "ninja" make you want to gouge your eyes out. We think that's a great place to start this conversation.

Instead: You're a writer, editor, strategist, and content aficionado who has deep opinions about omni-channel digital media (but you also love print, because it's tactile, beautiful, immersive, and it'll never, ever die). You're culture-obsessed, wildly self-motivated, a brilliant collaborator, and super detail-oriented. You understand the need to constantly adapt to new mediums and technologies while maintaining an unshakable conviction that the fundamentals of good storytelling never change.ย

Day to day, you'll be working hand-in-hand with our Impact and Marketing team to develop and execute 360-degree content strategies and campaigns around our nonprofit organization, The Awesome Humans Foundation, as well as oversee the development and execution of new digital and print assets (i.e. Substack, podcasts, a quarterly print publication, and beyond) that support our core brand campaigns and initiatives.ย ย

This role reports directly to the Narrative Director.

What you'll do:

  • Lead content strategy for our Impact team, working closely with the Director to develop and execute both long-form and short-form storytelling assets that support and amplify the mission and impact of our nonprofit organization.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure all Impact content is holistically and seamlessly integrated with overall marketing strategy and calendar.
  • Lead development strategy and execution of an in-house podcast, overseeing content and talent planning, as well as amplification strategy in partnership with our Marketing and Growth teams.ย
  • Oversee expansion and development of the FIGS catalogs into a more editorial magazine format.
  • Lead editorial production for FIGS coffee table books.ย
  • Begin to develop long-term strategy for media expansion into a multi-podcast network and unscripted TV in partnership with executive Marketing team.ย

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of editorial experience, preferably in a digital media space encompassing blogs, articles, and other formats of long-form storytelling.
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably with a degree in English, Communications, or Journalism.
  • A master's degree in English, Communications, or Journalism is a strong upside.
  • Experience in audio and visual storytelling, in addition to written content
  • Knowledge of print media production
  • Experience in managing and editing freelance contributorsย

Other must haves:

  • You've got a sense of humor (or three)
  • You're excellent at problem solving on your own, but not afraid to ask questions when you need to
  • You love a fast-paced environment (like...really fast paced)
  • You're looking for a company you can grow with
  • You love a company with a real purpose that stands by its values
  • You're 100% Awesome. Just like our scrubs.
