Job Summary:
Crowell & Moring LLP is an international law firm that represents clients in various legal matters. The eDiscovery & Data Solutions Technical Analyst is responsible for assisting with litigation automation and providing support for eDiscovery and litigation support applications, ensuring client service and satisfaction in all areas related to eDiscovery and Data services.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Senior eDiscovery & Data Solutions Project Managers, and case team personnel on eDiscovery & Data Solutions technical support issues.
โ€ข Analyzes documents and data to identify and insure compatibility with litigation systems.
โ€ข Manages, processes, and loads data and images to eDiscovery & Data Solutions systems. Logs, documents, diagnoses, and reports on failed processes.
โ€ข Designs and maintains litigation databases to manage litigation data for review, production, and analysis.
โ€ข Coordinates and handles requests for new or modified databases created using litigation applications including, but not limited to, Relativity/RelOne, Concordance, Sightline, West Case Notebook, Casemap, Everchron, and outside service and software systems for litigation support.
โ€ข Provides technical support and advice related to litigation technology and electronic discovery.
โ€ข Works with eDiscovery attorneys, legal teams, and Project Managers to execute document indexes, Layouts, and Views, and perform STR searches in Relativity.
โ€ข Coordinates with eDiscovery attorneys and legal teams on all aspects of litigation document review and production including project planning, developing document review protocols, searching, testing, and sampling.
โ€ข Conducts quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of document productions including, but not limited to, privilege and confidentiality designations and redactions.
โ€ข Maintains a working knowledge of and stays current on eDiscovery and litigation support technology.
โ€ข Participates in management of litigation support and eDiscovery & Data Solutions vendor relationships.
โ€ข Provides training and support to legal teams on the use of eDiscovery and Data Solutions systems and applications.
โ€ข Maintains documentation of work performed on litigation related client data from receipt through conclusion of matters.
โ€ข Develops process documentation and user training materials as directed.
โ€ข Troubleshoots issues as they arise with litigation teams, systems, and processes.
โ€ข Communicates with and provide back-up support to eDiscovery & Data Solutions Project Managers in all offices.
โ€ข Implements databases and image bases in accordance with procedures established by the eDiscovery & Data Solutions Manager.
โ€ข Assists Project Managers and case team personnel, co-counsel, and clients with technical problems relating to litigation systems.
โ€ข Logs, documents, and maintains files on all requests from Project Managers and case teams, as well as all communications with litigation, in a tracking database such as Smartsheet or OneNote.
โ€ข Exports images and data in preparation for production.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
โ€ข Minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience in eDiscovery & Data Solutions, litigation support, or similar environment.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, regarding technical matters with attorneys, case teams, project managers, and vendors.
โ€ข Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding technical matters of a complex nature.
โ€ข Ability to quickly adapt to changing and/or unexpected priorities and maintain a productive work effort while meeting deadlines and managing workload appropriately.
โ€ข Thorough understanding of relational databases, litigation support related software and technology, and the fundamentals of desktop and network operating systems.
โ€ข Advanced knowledge of technical litigation support and software including Relativity, Sightline, Ready Suite, West Case Notebook, Casemap, Everchron, Nuix, Brainspace, eCapture, Clearwell, and other eDiscovery hosted solutions.
โ€ข Advanced knowledge of MS Access, Excel, and SQL.
