Overview

The Business Analyst - VA LGY (VALERI) translates business needs into clear, deliverable requirements that support Veterans and stakeholders. The role develops user stories and breaks down requirements into actionable functionality; analyzes data requirements, business rules, and endtoend data flows from source to screen; and maintains documentation supporting new feature development. The analyst contributes to product design, specifications, and development, produces highquality deliverables with guidance from a team lead, reviews solution options, and builds strong, collaborative relationships. Success requires 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and problemsolving, the ability to shift priorities, leadership in ambiguous situations, and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.


Key Functions

  • Develop an understanding of technology products to meet the customer's current and future needs and the benefits to stakeholders and Veterans.
  • Develop user stories and break down requirements into deliverable functionality.
  • Analyze application/business domain data requirements and business rules, understanding the data flow from source to screen.
  • Maintain other documentation related to development of new features.
  • Responsible for contributing to the design, specifications, and development of products to meet the client needs.
  • Create high quality client deliverables with regular supervision from team lead.
  • Prepare and review solution options with team lead to solve tough challenges.
  • Be a good teammate to the client and the delivery team, encouraging and enabling teammates to be their best selves.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the client.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
    • Anadditional2 years of experience with anAssociate's Degree.
    • Anadditional4 years of experience with a high school diploma.
  • Excellent verbal and writtencommunicationsskills.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can easily shift focus between high priority tasks asrequired.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the face of ambiguity, rather than waiting for direction from above.
  • Navigates through challenges to consistently get things over the finish line.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications or Skills

  • Experience supporting theVALERIapplication for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Existing Public Trust clearance at the Department of Veterans Affairs orotherfederalagency.
  • In depth knowledge of the mortgage industry.
  • Experience implementing Salesforce and/or AWS solutions for the federal government or Department of Veterans Affairs specifically.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
