Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
As our next Systems Admin for NAVAIR, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation.
Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering solutions for various and unique problem sets and customers in a government software hosting facility.
  • Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, to include virtual machines and containers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.
  • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
  • Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Deploy and maintain software applications.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Maintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.
  • Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.
  • Secure information systems and applications to current DoW guidance.
  • Maintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.
  • Participate in project planning using Agile methodology.
  • Provide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.
  • Understanding and familiarity of Linux operating system and virtual networking

Qualifications
  • Active Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret (interim to start). Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance experience a must (example: scanning and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) execution)
  • At least 5-7 Years of experience.
  • CompTIA Sec+
  • Windows or Linux OS certification
  • Experience with VMWare, Virtual Networking, System Backups, Networking, Containers, Active Directory (desired)

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $86,000.00/Yr. - USD $126,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
