Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivatedBuildingServices Technicianto work on our Honolulu Rail Project.As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based inPearl City,HI.

Accountabilities:

  • Performs corrective, preventive and unscheduled building maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals and manufacturers maintenance instructions.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance duties related to normal mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and issues such as the heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) system, plumbing, lighting, cranes, etc.
  • Responds to equipment malfunctions completing repairs as assigned throughout the rail system, including the substations, the train stations.
  • Perform building maintenance such as roof inspection, parking lot maintenance, carpentry, painting, etc.
  • Observes equipment in operation to detect reported failures and locates causes of malfunction.
  • Uses electronic test equipment, power tools and other specialized hand tools as required.
  • Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required.
  • Oversee building maintenance contract and service work; process and contract out repair request
  • Participates in training programs as required.
  • Complies with Safety Rules, Operating Rule Book and first-aid procedures.
  • The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems
  • Ensure the execution of simple failure analysis and technical investigation
  • Support the rectification of defects and critical failures
  • Support the on site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site
  • Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty
  • Operate OTE equipment including track maintenance vehicles in accordance with training and qualifications
  • Produce accurate maintenance records and support the monitoring of the day to day maintenance performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Performs cross functional duties as assigned on unrelated systems included but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic controlled systems in accordance with training and qualifications

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Experience of electrical and common structural equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out tag-out protection.
  • Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Book of Rules, etc. and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of MSF (Maintenance Storage Facilities) and stations mechanical and electrical equipment systems.
  • A current CDL is a mandatory requirement for this job. If you do not possess a current CDL, you are required to acquire one within 12 months of starting on the job. The company will cover the cost of the training required to obtain the CDL. Failure to obtain the CDL within the specified timeframe will be considered non-compliance and may affect your employment status.

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

  • 1-2 years' experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • High School or equivalent

The starting pay for this position is $29.02/hour
