We combine old school woodworking craft with modern equipment, and we take pride in building things people actually notice.

The Role

We're looking for a Cabinet Builder who takes real pride in precise, high-quality fabrication. You'll work hands-on every day, running boards through the CNC one hour and hand-fitting a face frame the next, building custom cabinets from cut list to finished product. This role reports to the Shop Foreman and works closely with the rest of the CBC team to keep orders moving through the shop every week. If you like seeing a project go from raw material to something someone's going to live with for the next 20 years, this is your shop.

Responsibilities


Work safely and keep your area clean and organized

Assemble cabinets efficiently, gluing, fitting, and clamping components into complete units

Sand and scrape surfaces to prep for finishing

Match materials for color and grain so the finished product looks seamless

Cut and assemble face frames for cabinet boxes

Fit out finished cabinets, installing hinges, drawer slides, and assembling drawer boxes

Assemble and sand doors for final finishing

Jump in wherever the shop needs it: edge banding, taping, sand sealing, cleaning


Qualifications


Comfortable operating both hand-powered tools (drills, routers, saws) and industrial equipment (CNC, Razor Gauge, shapers, belt/drum sanders, planers, jointers, Edge Bander)

Ability to read blueprints and cut lists strongly preferred

Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision

  • Good problem solving skills - you can get to the root of the problem
  • Must be to work on time.
  • Ability to take direction from and follow instructions of leads and management.
  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Ability to understand quality and production standards.
  • Willingness to learn and understand Christian Brothersโ€™ production specifications.
  • Experience with large machinery, CNC, experience helpful, but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs at a time; help from fellow builders is there when needed.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of your day.
  • Prior carpentry experience, or custom woodworking skills are preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings is highly preferred.
