About The Opportunity

The Forklift Driver is responsible for loading and unloading trailers, keeping machine centers stocked at all times, completing accurate paperwork and correspondence related to shipping and receiving of product, and maintaining a neat and orderly warehouse. This person must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Load and unload trailers-bill as needed

  • Supply machine centers with stock

  • Remove/record waste from machine centers

  • Organize warehouse: scan units using RF technology and put into correct warehouse area

  • Prepare freight for outbound shipments

  • Fill in for baler/bander responsibility as needed

  • Remove/weigh scrap bales

  • Change propane tanks on forklift as needed

  • Operate electric charging station

  • Perform daily forklift inspections at each shift

  • Weekly PM's (blow out entire forklift)

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education & Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired

  • Previous production forklift driving experience required

  • Loading/unloading finished and raw material experience required

  • At least one year of forklift experience desired

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

  • Ability to effectively work in teams

  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

  • Ability to read a tape measure/ruler

  • Good mathematical skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Ability to learn radio frequency computer skills

  • Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job

  • Ability to pass forklift driving test

  • Ability to read
