Job description

Job Summary: Responsible for operating machines to produce cabinet components for doors, drawers, frames, and boxes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Matches parts for door assembly.
  • Off loads machines in the door department.
  • Operates machines within the department after training and certification.
  • Organizing parts prior to sand master.
  • Buffer maintenance.
  • Putty and hand sanding doors.
  • Quality inspection of built doors.
  • Maintain no more than a 1% reject rate per workday.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned by team leader and supervisor
  • Machines may include, but not limited to:
  • Table saw
  • Dado saw
  • MMTJ
  • Voorwood
  • Chop saw
  • Edge bander
  • Multi bore
  • Shapers / planers/ profilers

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Read and use tape measure
  • Read and understand labels and cut lists
  • Must be able to identify wood and plywood types and sizes of materials

Essential Functions of the Job: 

  • Stand and walk up to twelve hours per day on concrete surfaces while loading and stacking cabinets in the factory.
  • Physically carry and transport items for long distances up to twelve hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and transport material which range in accordance with the requirements listed in the matrices below for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management and coworkers by phone or in-person.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach grasps, twist, push, and pull items which range in accordance with the requirements listed in the matrices below for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Must be mentally altered and capable of remembering oral instructions and routine tasks.
  • Must be able to withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental fluctuations.
  • Must be able to work the required daily and weekly work hours as determined by the schedule.
  • Good attendance and punctuality are necessary.
  • Must exemplify through appearance and behavior the company’s image of excellence.
  • Must be alert and able to identify and respond to a hazard by either reporting it immediately, or by taking corrective measures if directed.
