Highlights:

Summary: The Clinical Chaplain shall provide a variety of pastoral duties to patients, families, and hospital employees. The Chaplain will represent the presence of God in the midst of crises of illness, death, disability, and other major emotional losses. Additionally, the Chaplain shall serve all persons associated with the organization regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or gender. This individual will demonstrate values of excellence, honesty, stewardship, respect, and attitude. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.Education / Experience: Basic seminary Master's degree required; Master of Divinity preferred. Four units (at least two advanced) of Clinical Pastoral Education certified by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent required. Ecclesiastical Endorsement required within 6 months of hire.Note: Behavioral Health Chaplain prefers advanced training in Emotional Health/Psychology/Counseling (MA, MSW, MFT, PhD or EdD).License / Certification required: Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be people oriented.
• Able to create a strong working relationship with physicians, staff, peers, and local clergy.
• Able to create ministerial relationships.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:Position requires sitting for 10% of the workday, standing for 60%, and mobility 30% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Must be able to take on call and work call back hours as needed. Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
