About Camden Rockport Elementary School
Camden Rockport Elementary School, nestled in a spacious setting with woods and fields adjacent to the high school, serves approximately 330 students in grades PreK-4 from the towns of Camden and Rockport. CRES uses a responsive classroom structure, has a robust system of supports for students, and features the first nature-based public PreK in the state of Maine.
Position Summary
We have an opening for an Ed Tech III working on a Special Educational Team with students (Grades K-4) identified with developmental, and/or cognitive needs in our Explorers (Life Skills) program. The individual may also work with individuals or small groups of special education students providing curriculum support, including the introduction of new learning pre-planned in consultation with the supervising teacher and with indirect teacher supervision. This position works 7:15am - 2:45pm, inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid lunch. This position is for 189 days per year.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members to support implementation of student IEPs.
  • Collect academic and functional data.
  • Support assigned students in general and/or special education settings, including the regular classroom, the self-contained classroom, and therapy classrooms.
  • Support students on the playground, at recess, during lunch, and during other nonacademic times.
  • Assist students with activities of daily living.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to seek nontraditional solutions to issues as they arise
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Ability to proactively manage student behaviors
  • Physical Ability, including but not limited to:
    • Standing for extended periods of time, Walking, Sitting, Kneeling, Bending and Reaching outward
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Requirements
  • Background check, including fingerprinting
  • Maine Department of Education Educational Technician III
  • Special Education experience preferred

Pay and Benefits
  • Pay is $25.06 - $27.58 based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
