About the jobPosition Summary

Electroswitch PSR is a premier American manufacturer of utility-grade switches and relays, including lockout relays, and battery monitoring systems. Headquartered in Weymouth, Massachusetts since 1946, Electroswitch produces mission-critical components for the electric utility, data center, defense, and industrial sectors.We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager, Data Center Power with an extensive background selling grid-connected power technology into the data center ecosystem.This individual will be responsible for expanding Electroswitch's presence within the data center market, establishing the company as a specified source for switches and relays, and developing new revenue opportunities. The position combines strategic market development with hands-on sales execution, technical aptitude, customer engagement, and long-term relationship development.The successful candidate will bring an established professional network within the data center power ecosystem and demonstrated experience building business from the ground up.This is an individual contributor role that may be based remotely or at our Weymouth, Massachusetts location and requires at least 60% travel.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Identify how large data centers plan, specify, and purchase within the power distribution ecosystem, including key decision-makers, consulting engineers, EPCs, OEMs, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities for Electroswitch products within the data center power distribution ecosystem.
  • Identify, develop, and cultivate new and alternative sales channels to drive growth in emerging and established data center markets.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans targeting growth in new and existing accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Travel extensively to support business development initiatives, engage customers, and represent Electroswitch at industry events.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and coordinate internal resources to support successful deal execution.
  • Drive Electroswitch products into data center specifications and Approved Vendor Lists and develop OEM partnership opportunities.
  • Support customer proposals by providing application designs to account teams.
  • Contribute to sales presentations and demonstrate solutions during customer engagements.
  • Build customer and OEM confidence through strong application and product knowledge.
  • Support trade shows, industry events, marketing initiatives, white papers, and other technical content.
  • Provide internal and external product and application training as required.
  • Share customer feedback, market intelligence, and application trends with Marketing and Product Management.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and emerging industry trends.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding business strategy, financial information, and other sensitive company information.
Qualifications
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to confidently present to engineering and technical audiences.
  • Four-year technical degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; technically competent candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience within the data center ecosystem.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience selling power-system apparatus or similar products.
  • Prior business development experience is required.
  • Experience engaging customers across multiple levels and functions, including operations, engineering, maintenance, and management.
  • Direct experience with utility electrical power-system control and protection components is advantageous.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish credibility and trust with customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and self-direction skills.
  • Must be located near a major airport and able to travel frequently.
