Job description

This is a full-time, on-site position based at either our Ontario, California or Champaign, Illinois location. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Typical pay for this position is $21-$25/hr. The final offer for this position will be based on the unique experience and qualifications of the candidate selected. This position may also be eligible for a bonus not included in the base pay range.

The eCommerce Site Merchandiser is responsible for developing outstanding content, navigation, and visual merchandising for our online businesses. Working closely with Brand Management, Product Development, Marketing and other colleagues, the eCommerce Site Merchandiser researches, creates, gathers, organizes, and edits a comprehensive set of product information so that shopping on our web site is intuitive, satisfying, and enjoyable. The individual is also responsible for developing and improving site merchandising through navigation, filters, key words, Product Associations and graphics.

Roles & Responsibilities

Web Content Development

  • Work across brand and service teams to coordinate content availability and to determine how to best present merchandise online.
  • Research, write, gather, organize, and edit product content for display on the detail pages.
  • Monitor site experience and customer feedback to identify and address content issues.
  • Recommend supporting content (i.e. videos, graphics) to create rich content experience for customers.

Site Merchandising

  • Manage day-to-day online merchandising activities to maximize sales and conversion.
  • Manage site taxonomy, category pages, product pages, and navigational structures.
  • Merchandise promotions, events, and seasonal programs.
  • Develop new site experiences as required.
  • Monitor and improve site search results.
  • Review and react to consumer feedback via surveys and email.
  • Manage product associations to maximize cross- and up-sell opportunities.
  • Review sales and site activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Make recommendations for user experience improvements.
  • Maintain key metrics and reports.

Qualifications

  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud Experience highly preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field. Commensurate level of experience may waive the educational requirement.
  • 2-3 years of sales and/or marketing experience, preferably in an online retail environment.
  • Creative and analytical thinker/problem solver with the ability to thrive in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects at once.
  • Strong attention to detail and the desire to collaborate with cross functional teams is a must.
  • Ability to understand reports, to draw conclusions and make business recommendations.
  • Basic skills in desktop publishing applications, Excel, Photoshop, and Acrobat are a must.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and web publishing tools, Dream Weaver.
  • Project management experience and basic graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Radio control (RC) industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and interpret RC and hobby trends and make recommendations on how to merchandise/market them online.

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
    • Occasional travel may be required domestically.
