The Director, eCommerce Finance is responsible for leading all financial planning, analysis, and strategic reporting in support of the Chief Digital Officer and the eCommerce business unit. This role serves as a key member of both the eCommerce and Finance leadership teams, providing insightful, value-added analysis to maximize sales growth and profitability. The Director will act as a sound business partner to the eCommerce team, translating complex data into actionable recommendations for senior management.

A day in the life as an Director, eCommerce Finance...

  • Lead the eCommerce financial planning process, including the development of annual revenue and expense budgets, monthly forecasts, and three-year strategic plans
  • Monitor and analyze operating results against budget and forecasts, highlighting trends and providing detailed variance explanations for sales, margin, and expenses
  • Partner with business leaders to develop business cases for new initiatives or investment decisions, and evaluate proposed contracts and partnerships from a financial and strategic perspective
  • Oversee the development of monthly and ad hoc executive reporting packages, performance dashboards, and board-level presentations to provide visibility into eCommerce financial performance and key business metrics
  • Analyze and optimize eCommerce-specific financial and strategic levers, such as parcel shipping and in-home delivery offers and pricing tiers, to ensure competitive and profitable offers
  • Evaluate and streamline financial business practices to improve operational efficiencies and the quality of financial reporting and actionable insights
  • Partner with and influence cross-functional teams-including marketing, operations, strategy, technology, stores, and brand partners-to drive business performance and ensure the effective and efficient production of all finance and business deliverables
  • Act as the primary liaison between the eCommerce business unit and the Accounting, Corporate Finance, Treasury, and Legal departments for all financial, contractual, and administrative matters

  • 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience; experience in retail or eCommerce is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Executive-level quantitative/analytical and organizational skills
  • Expert - level forecasting and financial modeling skills
  • Strong finance and accounting skills (GAAP, IFRS 16 a plus)
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides) business intelligence programs (PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Business Objects a plus)
