Location

This role requires candidates to live within a reasonable commuting distance of one of our BDA office locations: Woodinville, WA; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Troy, MI; New York (Midtown Manhattan), NY; or Indianapolis, IN.

This position follows a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and one day remote each week. Relocation to or proximity to one of these office locations is required.

Position Summary

As a key member of the Sales Leadership Team, the Sales Director, Ecommerce Client Services plays a vital role in both the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of assigned enterprise and client accounts. This role requires a dynamic leader who combines strong sales, ecommerce, and operational acumen with the ability to drive strategic growth, mentor high-performing teams, and build trusted long-term client and internal partnerships.

The Sales Director leads a team that may include, Account Managers, and Associate Account Managers, Program Managers and Associate Program Managers,  while partnering closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, Merchandising, Technology, and Operations teams to deliver best-in-class digital commerce experiences.

Success in this role requires a deep understanding of ecommerce strategy, online merchandising, customer experience, digital marketing, and performance analytics. The ideal candidate combines consultative sales leadership with strong commercial and operational expertise to help clients grow online engagement, increase conversion, maximize revenue, and strengthen brand loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Collaborate with Sales, Program and Operational leadership to define account-specific growth strategies and align them with overall business objectives.
  • Lead strategic planning sessions with account teams to develop marketing, promotional, and brand engagement strategies for key clients.
  • Analyze financial performance, sales trends, and ecommerce KPIs to optimize account strategy and maximize business results.
  • Represent client needs within BDA and act as a key voice in Sales Leadership discussions, contributing to broader company planning and best practices.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the sales leadership point of contact for a portfolio of enterprise accounts, building long-term, trusted partnerships with clients.
  • Lead efforts to understand and address client priorities, KPIs, and brand compliance standards while proactively identifying opportunities for added value.
  • Lead Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews focused on business outcomes, ecommerce analytics, customer insights, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor Voice of Customer (VOC), Net Promoter Score (NPS), and client satisfaction metrics to continuously improve client experiences.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales and account management organization focused on consultative selling and ecommerce excellence.
  • Foster a culture centered on customer success, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee execution of large client projects and ensure alignment with internal resources, vendors, and compliance procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Programs, Marketing, Merchandising, Sales Ops, and Finance to support seamless service delivery.
  • Proactively forecast resource needs and potential allocations within assigned sales team and internally.
  • Manage assigned P&L, budget targets, and OPEX controls to ensure both revenue growth and margin preservation.
  • Client contract negotiation, content drafting, amendment/addendum drafting, execution management.

Ecommerce Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Partner closely with Ecommerce, UX, Merchandising, Marketing, Technology, Sales Operations, and Finance teams to ensure successful execution of client portfolio.
  • Monitor Salesforce CRM compliance, forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and sales performance reporting.
  • Use ecommerce reporting and business intelligence tools to identify trends and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Support business development efforts and assist with strategic pitches, program launches, and new client onboarding as needed.

Business Development & Innovation

  • Stay current on ecommerce technologies, digital marketing trends, online consumer behavior, personalization strategies, and emerging retail innovations.
  • Support strategic sales pursuits, enterprise pitches, and new client implementations.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovative ecommerce capabilities that improve customer experience and business performance.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in cross-functional planning and product development discussions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, Communications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, ecommerce, digital commerce, strategic account management, or client services.
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing sales or client services teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing enterprise ecommerce programs and driving measurable online business growth.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, online merchandising, digital customer experience, promotional marketing, and omnichannel commerce.
  • Experience interpreting ecommerce analytics and translating performance data into growth strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, pricing strategy, and margin management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%.

Compensation & Benefits

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $150k to $180k. If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth. The range listed is just one component of BDA's total compensation and rewards programs, which includes: robust PTO; vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays and summer Fridays, Benefits; medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, 401k; tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs and professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement. Certain revenue-generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
