Work Available:

Join our culinary team at Treebones Resort, a unique luxury eco-resort nestled in the natural beauty of the California coast. At the Lodge Restaurant we offer a refined, four-course dining experience that celebrates locally sourced ingredients and thoughtfully prepared meals. Our menu is protein-forward - highlighting meat, fish, and poultry - but always inclusive of diverse dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free options.

We’re currently seeking an experienced Line Cook who is passionate about seasonal cooking and can thrive in a fast-paced, elevated kitchen environment on a small team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prep and cook lunch service, including fresh salads, burgers, and sandwiches made from scratch with seasonal ingredients

  • Execute a nightly four-course dinner service with consistency and attention to detail

  • Dinner service averages 30–60 covers, supported by 2–3 cooks depending on business levels

  • Handle and prepare proteins with confidence and precision (meat, fish, poultry

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sustainability standards throughout all service periods

  • Show initiative and leadership - there is room to grow into a Lead Line Cook or Sous Chef role based on exceptional performance

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a professional kitchen (line cook experience mandatory)

  • Strong protein handling skills are required

  • Wood-fire cooking experience is a plus

  • Ability to shift between lunch and dinner service with efficiency and a positive attitude

  • Passion for sustainability, teamwork, and delivering a high-quality guest experience

All shifts must be willing to:

  • Work 10-hour shifts with a 2-hour midday break between lunch and dinner services

  • Stand and be on your feet for the majority of each shift

  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly (e.g., moving inventory, equipment, or firewood)

  • Work in high-heat environments and occasional winter storms, especially during dinner service and near the wood-fire oven

  • Adapt to a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays

  • Maintain a positive attitude and high energy in a physically demanding, fast-paced kitchen

Compensation:

• Team Member: $18/hour + Tips (or based on experience)

• $500 Bonus: A $500 bonus will be issued after 6 weeks of strong performance. If the contract is broken and you leave early, the bonus amount will be deducted from your final paycheck.
