Audit Manager | EBP & Assurance | Up to $170K+


We are partnering with an established public accounting firm on an Audit Manager opportunity with a strong focus on Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits. This is a client-facing leadership role for an experienced auditor who enjoys managing complex engagements, developing staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5+ years of public accounting experience, with significant EBP audit experience and the ability to take ownership of engagements from planning through completion. This is an opportunity to step into a management role with meaningful responsibility across the audit practice.


What You'll Do

  • Manage EBP audit engagements from planning through completion
  • Oversee audit fieldwork, testing, documentation, and reporting
  • Review financial statements, workpapers, and audit deliverables
  • Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and engagement progress to clients
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development to audit staff
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and workflow
  • Assist with for-profit audit engagements and other assurance work as needed
  • Apply knowledge of Uniform Guidance and other compliance requirements
  • Work closely with partners and leadership on complex engagements
  • Identify opportunities to improve client processes, controls, and efficiencies


What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of current public accounting experience
  • Strong Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audit experience
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification
  • For-profit audit experience is a plus
  • Strong technical knowledge of audit and accounting principles
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines
  • Experience mentoring and developing staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work primarily in office (4-5x a week in Chicago)
