Description
The Digital/Editorial Operations Specialist, is a detail-oriented, experienced metadata and publishing professional who provides technical, editorial, and administrative support to the Digital/Editorial Operations team. Primary responsibilities include maintaining metadata standards, regularly refining product attributes (sales copy, keywords, and product classifications) to improve visibility and sales ranking at Amazon, and managing key administrative tasks.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Assist Sr. Manager, Digital/Editorial Operations with database and metadata management.
    • Receive daily metadata change requests, make all updates in our Title Management (TMM) system, and send out a change confirmation email.
    • Troubleshoot and address metadata and feed issues.
    • Execute metadata feeds.
    • Act as a liaison with the distributor for metadata when needed.
    • Review metadata in batches monthly to make sure it's up-to-date and of high quality.
    • Act as TMM and metadata backup when Sr. Manager is out.
  • Manage the complete metadata for at least one PRPG imprint.
    • Prepare each season's metadata for the S&S sales meeting.
    • Run tip sheets for licensors, receive approvals, and lift NFOs at S&S.
    • Troubleshoot issues at retail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including marketing, editorial, and sales-to ensure that retail product online listings are accurate, compelling, and optimized for search and media performance.
  • Use AI tools to optimize description copy, taglines, BISACs, and keywords as needed to improve discoverability on Amazon and other e-commerce sites.
  • Assist with upcoming e-commerce initiatives.
  • Manage PRPG Search Inside uploads for Amazon.
  • Manage metadata art uploads, including trade cover mocks, final covers/interiors for trade, Walmart/Target uploads, the RDS library, and others as needed.
  • Audit and ensure the RDS library remains current, including replacing cover mocks seasonally and as needed.
  • Assist with entering and managing all necessary metadata for proprietary titles in TMM to facilitate F&O set up and integration with the publishing operations workflow.
  • Enter all co-edition data into TMM.
  • Assist with the eBook conversion and publication process.
  • Choose, file, and track Lexile measures seasonally and update TMM accordingly.
  • Attend regular art and touch base meetings.
  • Receive and respond to reader mail.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.

What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of publishing or metadata experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with Firebrand's Title Management (TMM) system is preferred.
  • Experience with books and knowledge of editorial procedures is preferred.
  • Experience using AI tools to optimize metadata and maximize discoverability is preferred.
  • Experience with Macintosh and InDesign is preferred.
  • Excellent editing, writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Efficient at multitasking and able to handle multiple projects within tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
  • Ability to write routine reports, SOPs, and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • A methodical and organized approach to problem-solving.
  • The work performed is in an office environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $78,000.00
