We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our outpatient psychiatric practice at Gotham Enterprises Ltd., located in the heart of Lawrence, Kansas. This full-time remote position offers you the opportunity to work closely with individuals who are embarking on their journey to recovery from various eating disorders, while earning a competitive salary in the range of USD 80,000 to 104,000 per year.

Working remotely from Lawrence, Kansas, our licensed therapists enjoy a collaborative and supportive culture that fosters professional growth and personal well-being. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will participate in weekly team meetings via video conference, where we share insights, strategies, and updates on client progress. We also provide you with the flexibility necessary to balance your professional responsibilities and personal life effectively.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in eating disorders, your day-to-day activities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate clients' symptoms related to eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health issues, thereby identifying their unique treatment needs.
• Creating customized treatment plans based on your findings and collaborating closely with clients to set achievable and meaningful recovery goals.
• Delivering evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help clients reshape their perceptions of food, body image, and self-worth.
• Facilitating therapeutic sessions focused on dismantling distorted beliefs and fostering a healthier self-image.
• Helping clients acquire effective coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to combat disordered eating behaviors.
• Working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless coordination of care, contributing to a holistic understanding of each client's journey.
• Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families to cultivate a supportive environment conducive to recovery.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of clients' progress and treatment plans to comply with applicable legal and ethical standards.
• Engaging in professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest research and clinical practices in eating disorder treatment.

The individuals you will support primarily struggle with various eating disorders, which can significantly affect their mental and emotional health. You will work with clients from diverse backgrounds, each presenting unique challenges and requiring tailored therapeutic approaches. Your role is pivotal in guiding them toward healthier relationships with food and self-perception.

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT to practice in the state of Kansas.
• Proven expertise in evidence-based therapies for eating disorders, particularly CBT, DBT, and ACT.
• A robust understanding of the complexities surrounding eating disorders and related mental health issues.
• Exceptional communication skills to build rapport with clients and foster a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly in working with clients presenting eating disorders, will be given preference. We highly value familiarity with community health settings and experience in collaborative care models.
