Position Overview

The Silver Head Psychiatry Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in providing vital mental health services remotely, with a focus on school-based counseling. This full-time position allows you to work closely with students and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs while aiding in their overall development and well-being.

Work Environment

This LCSW role will primarily be performed remotely, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that our clients receive uninterrupted services. You will collaborate with the Clinical Director and Executive Director to provide a therapeutic framework that supports the unique psychological needs of students. This remote setting combines the ease of working from home with the commitment to establishing and maintaining effective client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ counseling needs to craft personalized treatment plans.
  • Utilize DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) criteria to assess clients for substance use disorders and determine appropriate levels of care based on ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) guidelines.
  • Prepare comprehensive substance abuse counseling sections of treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of clients.
  • Develop discharge and continuum of care plans to ensure clients transition effectively to appropriate support and services.
  • Document all counseling sessions, assessments, referrals, and follow-up care in clients’ clinical records to maintain accurate and updated information on their progress.
  • Maintain detailed caseload management, including necessary case management and utilization review updates, along with treatment planning and clinical charting requirements.
  • Coordinate support services for clients and their families, ensuring that all services are noted in clinical records for continuity and tracking.
  • Establish contact with referral sources such as schools, legal representatives, and employers to facilitate comprehensive support for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to address crisis-oriented issues and implement interventions as needed for your assigned clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with adolescents and young adults within the educational system, providing them access to mental health resources and counseling. Your interventions will be pivotal in addressing co-occurring disorders, helping clients navigate their challenges with substance use, emotional distress, and social issues.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in California.
  • Strong professionalism, including excellent therapeutic boundaries, cultural competency, and self-motivation.
