Position Summary:
The Clinical Director works in a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing treatment services according to the Center for Discovery Clinical Model. Clinical Director responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing milieu interventions, leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups, facilitating clinical assessments, and clinical supervision and oversight of the program.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Oversee and ensure quality of clinical aspects of the program and takes the initiative to make improvements.
  • Facilitates weekly treatment team meetings to ensure consistent and effective communication, including proper oversight of patient progress and ensures a team approach is being utilized.
  • Assists in admission processes and understands role in ensuring expeditious access to care for those seeking services.
  • Trains all new clinical employees within their scope and coordinates training with clinical team members.
  • Provides support to milieu staff to ensure patients are receiving the highest level of clinical care, at all times.
  • Conducts with the Executive Director all 90-day, annual performance reviews, and growth plans for therapists within the program.
  • Manages clinical employees' schedules to ensure appropriate clinical presence.
  • Provides adequate and ongoing training of facility employees, and sufficient oversight/supervision to ensure that all services are in keeping with the Discovery Mission Statement.
  • Supports in facilitating monthly employee training courses ensuring that all mandated trainings are completed throughout the year.
  • Completes utilization reviews, oversees primary therapist process of utilization review and assists in the process of assuring that all patient stays are authorized (i.e. insurance, private pay, etc.).
  • Maintains a patient caseload as dictated by census and assigns cases based upon the appropriate clinical match with each therapist.
  • Leads or co-leads 3-4 process groups and/or any additional clinically oriented groups every week. Provides oversight of all other groups conducted.
  • Communicates with referral sources and outpatient providers for continuity of care upon admission, midpoint, and discharge, including the use of Discovery Connect.
  • Attends outreach events and supports relationship management in the community
  • Facilitates patient transfers to a higher level of care, as needed.
  • Ensure discharge planning is adequate and complete for all discharging patients.
  • Participates in clinical outreach and facilitates program tours as needed.
  • Facilitates Multi-Family, Family Program and/or Family Weekend.
  • Supervises all therapists within the program and provides clinical consultation, as needed.
  • RTC Only: Provides on-call support to the facility at least 1x per month and communicates with the On-Call Administrator and returns all phone calls within 20 minutes.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in relevant field, required
  • License, and ability to provide clinical supervision, required
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with eating disorders, required
  • Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire
  • Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
  • Obtain ServSafe certification within 90 day of hire
  • Must possess a current driver's license and be in good standing
