Rural Track Faculty Physician & Associate Program Director (APD) Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program | Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital (RSMH)

Join our collaborative team where your expertise is valued, your voice is heard, and your work truly makes a difference. Riverside Health is seeking a Family Medicine Faculty Physician to serve as core faculty and the Associate Program Director for our developing Rural Track Program based at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on Virginiaโ€™s Eastern Shore.

In this leadership role, you will help design, launch, and grow a new rural training pathway that expands our mission of preparing exceptional family physicians for all communities. You will combine patient care with mentorship, curriculum development, and program leadershipโ€”shaping the next generation of rural family physicians.

Role Highlights:
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Rural Track curriculum
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and core faculty to meet ACGME requirements and program goals
  • Recruit, select, and onboard Rural Track residents
  • Develop community partnerships to support rural health education
  • Supervise residents in mainly outpatient and community settings
  • Serve as a role model for full-spectrum family medicine in a rural environment
  • Support scholarly activity and foster resident projects relevant to rural health
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • MD or DO; Board Certified in Family Medicine
  • Eligible for or licensed to practice in Virginia; current DEA registration required
  • Experience or strong interest in rural medicine preferredAbility to practice full-spectrum family medicine
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and collaborative, team-oriented approach
