What is the role about? 

Eastern Controls Inc. (ECI), a manufacturer's representative partner of Endress+Hauser Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Specialist to support real-world industrial solutions, learn our products from the ground up, and work closely with sales and customers. If you are technically curious, detail-oriented, and ready to grow, this role was built for you. 

The Outside Sales Representative role at Eastern Controls is a territorybased, consultative sales position focused on growing new and existing business within processdriven industries by serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers. This role combines relationship building, technical problemsolving, and proactive business development, with regular travel throughout the assigned territory. 

Which tasks will you perform? 

  • Develop and expand a defined sales territory by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers by providing consultative, solutionoriented sales support 
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor by understanding customer processes and recommending appropriate process control solutions 
  • Conduct regular inperson customer visits, presentations, and onsite support throughout the assigned territory 
  • Manage a personal book of business, including scheduling, customer communications, opportunities, and followups 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and manufacturing partners to support projects, quotes, and customer needs 
  • Participate in training, product education, and sales meetings to maintain technical knowledge and sales effectiveness 

What do we expect from you? 

You will have (required): 

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Mechanical/Chemical Engineering) or Business Degree with ability to provide technical solutions or equivalent experience 
  • Travel required: Candidate would work out of their home office with local travel to existing customers and building relationships with new customers throughout the territory. Occasional overnight travel required for training and meetings. Initially would need to spend significant time at our headquarters in Edgmont, PA (southwest of Philadelphia) for training and immersion on the product lines. Visit the ECI office as needed for additional sales meetings and training. 

You may have (preferred):  

  • Experience with or understanding of process applications within industries of power, oil/gas, chemical, water / wastewater treatment, food & beverage production, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper, and other life-sustaining manufacturing facilities 
  • Experience with or understanding of process measurement instrumentation, controls valves, actuators, positioners, gas & flame detection and electrical heat trace 
  • Proven success in growing and building business 
  • Must have a strong work ethic 
  • coupled with the ability to influence others, drive sales and serve as the trusted advisor to your customers to solve their biggest engineering challenges 
  • Strong technical communications and organization skills
