Job description

You are applying for work with a Comfort Keepers franchisee, not CK Franchising, Inc. or any of its affiliates. If hired, the franchisee will be your only employer. Franchisees are independent business owners who set their own wage and benefit programs that can vary among franchisees.
Caregiver - East County (El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee & surrounding)
Comfort Keepers | San Diego County
Comfort Keepers is expanding its care team to serve seniors in El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee, Lakeside, and surrounding East County communities. If you live in the area and want caregiving work close to home, this is your opportunity. We match East County caregivers with East County clients - less commute, more time doing the work you love.
We're especially interested in caregivers with high-end private-duty experience and those with mental health or behavioral health backgrounds.
Pay & Benefits
  • $18.25 - $25.00/hr - your rate reflects your experience and credentials
  • Weekly pay
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Local client assignments - work close to where you live
  • Schedules built around the availability you give us - part-time and full-time
  • Consistent assignments with the same clients when possible
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) benefits
  • Paid training and ongoing skill development
  • 24/7 on-call support - if it's an emergency, someone gets back to you fast

Where This Can Lead
This is a real career, not a stopgap. Caregivers here move from Caregiver to Senior Caregiver, and from there into Client Care, Scheduling, or Sales - depending on your strengths and what you want next. We've had caregivers make every one of those transitions. Stay a caregiver if that's your calling. If it's not, there's somewhere to go.
What You'll Do
  • Provide compassionate, dependable in-home care for seniors
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and transfers
  • Offer medication reminders, prepare meals, and assist with light housekeeping
  • Provide transportation to appointments and errands as needed
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, including for clients living with dementia, anxiety, depression, or other cognitive or behavioral health conditions
  • Observe and report changes in client condition, and communicate clearly with the care team

Required
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work within the East County service area
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred
  • 1+ years of professional caregiving experience (3+ years required for top pay tiers)
  • CNA, HHA, or home health aide certification
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience supporting clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, anxiety, depression, or other cognitive or behavioral health conditions
  • Experience caring for clients in high-end or private estate settings, with demonstrated professionalism and discretion

Service Area
East County service area includes El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee, Lakeside, Alpine, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove, Grossmont, and surrounding communities. Caregiver assignments are primarily within this area.
