The Customer Decision Science team at Walmart analyzes every store trip, web and app visit, service interaction, search, click, purchase and survey response to help deliver the easiest shopping experience digitally and physically. We are a team of decision science practitioners who work together to uncover the why behind the customer behavior while measuring the outcomes from a customer and competitive lens. As a Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics in the team, you will have the unique opportunity to leverage the power of technology, big data and analytics to improve the lives of the 100M+ households that shop at Walmart every year. You will be responsible for driving Walmart’s High Value Habits initiatives by identifying the primary accelerators and decelerators of customer loyalty, translating these findings into actionable insights that directly inform high-level business strategy. Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute advanced analytics initiatives supporting Walmart's customer growth, loyalty, retention, and engagement strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for business impact through customer and behavioral data analysis, translating findings into a prioritized analytics roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain customer KPIs, measurement frameworks, and success metrics to evaluate business performance and customer outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Strategy, and Finance teams to embed analytics into product development and business decision-making.
  • Drive analytical rigor across experimentation, customer measurement, and strategic business analyses.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing strategy and fostering a customer-centric, data-driven culture.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field with 3-5+ years of experience in Data Science/Analytics; OR a Master’s degree with 2-3+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency (BigQuery, Hive, Snowflake, or equivalent) and strong Python skills for data analysis, automation, statistical modeling, and scalable analytics solutions.
  • Experience developing customer, product, and business performance metrics using large-scale transactional, behavioral, or clickstream datasets.
  • Strong knowledge of experimentation, causal inference, and observational analytical methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple high-impact projects in fast-paced environments with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep experience in cloud-based big data environments (GCP/BigQuery or Snowflake), with a focus on optimizing query performance and cost.
  • Experience leading code reviews and mentoring junior team members on best practices and efficient coding standards.
  • Prior experience in Retail, E-commerce, or analyzing complex omni-channel customer journeys.
