Sr Director, ERP - Erlanger, KY
Summary: A strategic and forward-thinking ERP leader with a proven ability to drive enterprise transformation through business-aligned technology, modern architectures, and data-driven decision making. Recognized for bridging business and IT, translating complex ERP capabilities into measurable outcomes, and leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that deliver sustained value.
Core responsibilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing, functioally diverse ERP organization
    Establish and guide a cross-functional ERP team that includes business process owners, superusers, end users, and business leaders. Foster constructive challenge to the status quo while accelerating user adoption and business value realization.
  • Define and champion a compelling, business-aligned ERP vision
    Articulate a clear, outcome-driven ERP vision that explicitly connects initiatives to strategic priorities, operational performance, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking ERP strategy and roadmap
    Create and continuously evolve a multi-year ERP roadmap aligned to corporate objectives, incorporating emerging capabilities such as cloud ERP, composable architectures, platform ecosystems, AI, agentic AI, and embedded intelligence.
  • Establish robust ERP governance and operating model
    Implement cross-functional governance, including global process ownership and a product-oriented mindset. Stand up and lead an ERP Center of Excellence to enable continuous improvement, scalability, and innovation post-go-live.
  • Drive organizational change and user adoption at scale
    Sponsor and lead change management strategies that clearly answer "what's in it for me," build engagement, and mobilize a network of champions and superusers to sustain adoption and behavioral change.
  • Own enterprise data strategy for ERP and beyond
    Define and govern application data management practices-including master data, metadata, and data quality-ensuring ERP data is trusted, governed, and ready to power analytics, AI, and decision intelligence.
  • Lead ERP ecosystem and technology integration decisions
    Oversee selection and integration of ERP platforms, enterprise applications, hybrid integration frameworks, and process mining tools to enable operational excellence and a flexible, composable architecture.
  • Manage total cost of ownership and value realization
    Establish and continuously optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) for ERP, including software, infrastructure, integration, support, and vendor services. Balance cost, performance, and agility while ensuring sustained business value, ROI, and alignment with financial targets.
  • Define and govern ERP performance metrics and value tracking
    Establish a comprehensive KPI framework to measure ERP performance across operational efficiency, user adoption, data quality, system reliability, and business outcomes. Monitor and report on value realization, continuously refining metrics to drive accountability, transparency, and ongoing optimization.
  • Direct ERP transformation delivery and operational readiness
    Define and govern migration strategies (e.g., phased, data factory, hybrid), cutover planning, and support models. Manage vendor and partner relationships to ensure successful deployment and sustainable operations for cloud or composable ERP environments.
Required skills and competencies
  • Executive stakeholder engagement, communication, and change leadership
    Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders by crafting compelling value narratives that connect ERP initiatives to business outcomes, while sustaining engagement and momentum through complex transformation.
  • Business process expertise and financial acumen
    Deep understanding of end-to-end business capabilities and process modeling, combined with strong financial literacy (e.g., FP&A, xP&A), enabling translation of ERP functionality into measurable business value and performance improvement.
  • Data governance and information management discipline
    Proficiency in data governance frameworks, master and metadata management, and data quality practices to ensure ERP data is trusted, standardized, and optimized for analytics, AI, and decision intelligence.
  • Enterprise architecture and platform fluency
    Strong knowledge of modern ERP architectures, including composable ERP, hybrid integration patterns, enterprise application platforms, and low-code/no-code extensibility to enable agility, scalability, and innovation.
  • Applied AI awareness and prioritization capability
    Working understanding of AI, embedded intelligence, and agentic AI use cases within ERP ecosystems, with the ability to evaluate vendor roadmaps, prioritize high-value opportunities, and set realistic expectations.
  • Program leadership, governance, and vendor management
    Proven ability to lead large-scale ERP programs, design effective governance structures, manage system integrators and vendors, and transition organizations to agile, product-oriented delivery and support models post go-live.
Experience and qualifications (typical expectations)
  • Demonstrable experience leading ERP strategy, large ERP implementations or migrations (preferably cloud or composable migrations) and data migration governance; ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external implementation partners.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, business case mapping and realization of measurable business outcomes from ERP or related enterprise application investments.
  • Experience leading globally distributed teams and driving alignment across business, IT, and functional domains. Skilled in navigating organizational complexity, resolving competing priorities, and sustaining momentum through multi-year transformation programs.
  • Balanced background combining enterprise applications program leadership with exposure to business architecture, process design, and/or data governance disciplines. Able to operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels.
