Job description

Summary The Tutoring Coordinator serves under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Tutoring Services, and acts as the lead coordinator for tutoring services within The Learning Commons. This position manages scheduling and operational logistics for course-based drop-in tutoring, the Math & Statistics Lab, Writing Hub appointments, virtual tutoring, and FLY Program tutoring. The role takes the lead in training tutoring and front desk operations, ensures accurate maintenance of program records and systems, and coordinates e-tutoring through OhioLINK.

The Tutoring Coordinator contributes to program development, resources, and collaboration across academic departments to enhance student access to tutoring services. Essential Functions Serves as the operational coordinator for tutoring services within the Learning Commons by scheduling course-based drop-in tutoring, Math & Statistics Lab services, Writing Hub appointments and online submissions, virtual tutoring, and tutoring associated with the FLY Program at Bowling Green State University, ensuring appropriate room assignments and tutor coverage. Serves as a primary contact for tutoring services by coordinating tutoring requests, maintaining communication with the FLY Program, coordinating e-tutoring access through OhioLINK, responding to student and tutor inquiries, and assisting with The Learning Commons front desk operations and student check-in processes.

Contributes to the development and delivery of training for tutoring and front desk student staff within the Learning Commons, including preparing training materials aligned with College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) standards and providing guidance on program procedures and best practices. Maintains tutoring program records and systems for the Learning Commons, including tutor rosters, tutor hours, session attendance, student check-in data, and program documentation, ensuring accurate records and preparation of program reports. Contributes to tutoring coordination across academic departments by maintaining tutoring webpages and resources, supporting tutoring technologies, and collaborating with campus partners to support student access to tutoring services.

Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following Degree is required: Bachelor's degree The following Degree is preferred: Master's degree The following Experience is required: 1 year experience coordinating or scheduling academic support, tutoring, or related educational programs 1 year experience using technology platforms for scheduling, data tracking, and program management (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canvas, Navigate) The following Experience is preferred: Experience in higher education tutoring programs or learning centers Familiarity with College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) tutor training standards Experience coordinating virtual or e-tutoring services, including familiarity with OhioLINK or similar platforms Experience assisting with front desk operations or student services workflows Experience maintaining websites or digital resources for student programs Additional Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and according to FERPA guidelines Strong verbal and written communication skills, including skill in writing memos/reports and presenting or teaching in workshop/classroom environments Strong listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills in work with academic staff and students Ability to interact collaboratively and effectively with other staff, students, academic advisors, faculty, and the university community Understanding of student learning outcomes associated with the completion of the general education curriculum and baccalaureate/liberal arts degrees Compassionate and caring attitude toward working with students Deadline to Apply: June 4, 2026 Required Application Materials & Evaluation Experience must be fully documented on the official application.
