At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000

Position Summary

The primary focus of this position will center on the instructional design, implementation, and facilitation of LOD programming and corresponding collateral at Midland States Bank. This position requires project management skills and a strong understanding of Midland's strategic goals and initiatives to identify and deliver relevant learning and organizational development opportunities across our footprint. This position will require the ability to effectively utilize authoring software (Articulate) in the creation of eLearning content. This position requires the advanced skill in the facilitation of ILT (instructor-led training) opportunities both in person and by virtual platform (MS TEAMS and WebEx). A successful LOD Specialist II will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Communication, Emotional Intelligence, Training Delivery & Facilitation, and Learning Management Software (Cornerstone). This position must be an adaptable Servant Leader and Culture Champion consistently operating under a Growth Mindset. This position reports to the Manager of Learning & Organizational Development.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Primarily responsible for the development and delivery of a variety of programming that results in the upskilling/reskilling of MSB employees.
  • Serve as a project manager that can bring a program from conceptualization to maintenance.
  • Assists in development and delivery of job specific training (in person or virtual; end user and train the trainer).
  • Responsible for assessing and recommending strategic opportunities to implement distance learning and computer/web-based training.
  • Assists in the maintenance and continuous evaluation of recent technology/tools that support the L&D goals.
  • Assists with vendor research, communication, and evaluation.
  • Responsible for the delivery and facilitation of programming from Midland States Bank's LOD portfolio.
  • Plans, coordinates, conducts, and evaluates training programs (both internal and external) for target audiences.
  • Designs plans, procedures, and processes for the administration of training; monitoring employee progress and program effectiveness.
  • Leverages new developments, methods, practices, and techniques in the learning and organizational development fields.
  • Partner and collaborate with subject matter specialists on content development and delivery to the organization.
  • Assists in maintaining positive employee relations in the organization.
  • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
  • May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Education, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Three to five or more years of training experience in assessment, course design, development, delivery and facilitation in multiple learning modalities such as workshop, virtual, e-learning, simulation and/or gamification.
  • Experience in measurement tools and reporting for employee and leadership development programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to key stakeholders, senior leaders, and large training groups in person or remotely.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to support training needs in other locations (15-20% of time).
  • Computer skills: MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to influence and lead without formal authority.
