Job description

Job Overview

Position: Hot Section Engineering (HSE) – AI/ML Engineer, Onsite in Hartford, Connecticut.

Eligibility: U.S. citizen or U.S. person. Security clearance: none required.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the AI/ML team to develop and apply novel machine learning frameworks and methodologies supporting the design and evaluation of turbine components for the Hot Section Engineering organization.
  • Communicate technical solutions and insights to internal/external customers and organization leadership.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and monitor machine learning models for physics‑based simulations, fleet analytics, and component design.
  • Collaborate across RTX AI/ML teams to strengthen corporate‑level AI/ML initiatives and infrastructure.
Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 2+ years of engineering experience or advanced degree with 1+ year of experience.
  • Strong Python programming skills and SQL proficiency.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with high‑performance distributed computing.
  • Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art architecture, machine learning techniques, and algorithms, with experience developing or using major deep‑learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX).
  • Experience solving machine‑learning problems involving scientific and engineering simulations (e.g., structural, CFD, thermal).
Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
