Job description

JOB SCOPE:
The job of auditorium manager was established to oversee the technical needs of the music and theater departments at the high school and middle schools.  This position is also responsible the audio/video services for outside rental groups using a school auditorium.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:


  • Programming lighting console
  • Mixing and running soundboard
  • Provide adequate lighting and sound design support for all events
  • Train, supervise and schedule student audio/visual techinicians for D.H.S
  • Set up and supervise events that take place in D.H.S./ Middle school auditoriums
  • Preventative maintenance on all theatrical lighting and sound equipment
  • Work with students and faculty on large spring musical and other in-house events
  • Act as a liaison between D.H.S. / Middle schools and clients renting the auditorium(s)

  KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS:

  • Applicant must be eager to learn and work with the community, both of the Greater Danbury area and of the Danbury School System.
  • Willingness to work with outside auditorium rental groups

  • Organized and able to multi-task
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to work nights and weekends

  • Basic understanding of rigging systems

 RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in Entertainment Tech' industry or a minimum 3 years work experience in the field

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light to moderate lifting ranging from 10 30 pounds.  When necessary, ability to handle being on a ladder for heights up 20'.
Working Conditions:


  • 20 -  50 hours per school year
  • Hourly wage, rate of $37.00/ hr
