At Rocky, we feel our best in nature and we feel our best when we nurture ourselves with nature. That's why for over 25 years we have been students of this glorious Earth—formulating everyday essentials that nurture your skin, body, and hair, all crafted with care here in the Canadian Rockies. Our 14 locations nationwide are designed to bring nature indoors. Crafted from natural materials, they guide customers through immersive sensorial experiences anchored by our signature sink—unique to each location. Growing our culture‑focused team means finding those who share the belief that we are a part in the greater ecosystem, working together to make a positive impact in our communities and for the Earth. Are you a natural fit for the new world of Rocky?

The position

We're looking for a Director, Digital and Ecommerce to help grow our ecommerce business and level up our digital marketing. This is a hands‑on role for an exceptional leader who loves building things, digging into data, and turning insights into clear, practical plans.

The Director, Digital and Ecommerce leads ecommerce, technology, and performance marketing with a focus on building a scalable, efficient digital business that drives growth, builds loyalty, and keeps customers (and teams) genuinely happy.

This position works Monday through Friday in either a fully remote or hybrid capacity from our workshop in Canmore, Alberta.

What you’ll be doing

Build and lead the team

  • Build, develop, and lead the digital team (4‑6 direct reports) with clear goals, trust, and empathy
  • Comfortably move between strategy and execution when needed
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional leaders across marketing, retail, operations, and production to deliver on shared goals
  • Mentor the Customer Experience (CX) Manager so that the frontline team feel as supported as the customers they serve
  • Plan and manage in‑house developer capacity to deliver infrastructure improvements and theme/front‑end code against a clear roadmap

Own the numbers

  • Own eComm revenue, profit, and budget
  • Work alongside Sales Planning to lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking
  • Identify and unlock new growth opportunities across channels, lifecycles, and platforms
  • Build and maintain clear dashboards, KPIs, and a unified analytics and attribution setup, to translate data into insights that people can use to make smart decisions

Champion the digital experience

  • Identify opportunities to connect with our customers and drive first purchases, repeat frequency and loyalty, across the current and future digital ecosystem
  • Lead conversion rate optimization and basket building opportunities
  • Own the eComm tech stack and roadmap for future improvements

Drive performance marketing and conversion

  • Direct performance marketing strategy and execution across paid channels
  • Optimize customer acquisition channels and efficiencies to drive scalable incremental growth
  • Work alongside the Senior Director, Marketing & Brand to shape the end‑to‑end customer journey, balancing performance with brand experience, as you grow repeat rate and lifetime value

Own IT, platforms and marketplaces

  • Own our ecommerce platforms, websites, and core digital infrastructure, keeping things stable, scalable and cost‑effective
  • In partnership with the Executive Team, lead IT on platform decisions and long‑term tech roadmap
  • Oversee our cyber‑security needs, working with internal and external partners
  • Lead our digital commerce strategy across potential platforms (marketplaces, TikTok Shop, and retail digital partners) ensuring consistent storytelling and conversion
  • Support an evolving AI strategy that prioritizes human connections over shortcuts
Does this sound like you?
  • An exceptional people leader who builds and nurtures teams through results‑oriented but empathetic leadership, and a focus on creating clarity and driving accountability amongst teams
  • A strategic thinker who knows how to prioritize, stay lean, and invest thoughtfully
  • A strong analyst who’s comfortable digging into performance across the tech stack to deliver meaningful insights
  • A collaborative partner to brand, creative, product, and operations teams
  • A clear communicator who makes complex ideas easy to understand
  • 10+ years building and scaling digital commerce businesses with real ownership of technology, revenue and P&L
  • A proven record of driving growth — scaling fast, fixing what’s broken, or building from the ground up
  • Strong experience running performance marketing at the execution level
  • Experience in beauty, wellness, or consumer brands is a plus
  • Experience in high‑growth or early‑stage environments strongly preferred
What's in it for you?
  • This position pays between $130,000 - $160,000 per annum, with the opportunity to participate in the Director bonus plan
  • Significant product discounts and quarterly allowances
  • Subsidized group medical and dental benefits for you and your family
  • Share in Rocky’s success - The Great Game profit sharing program
  • Generous paid annual vacation and personal days
  • Healthy lifestyle support through an annual allowance
  • Access to a dedicated Rocky coach to help you optimize your potential
  • The opportunity to participate in Culture Club organized activities
