Job description

Are you the go-to pro when a CNC goes down?

Picture this: A critical machine is offline and a delivery window is closing. You arrive, read the schematics, isolate the fault, lock it out, swap components, validate hydraulics and pneumatics, and bring the line back. If that sounds like a great day’s work, read on.

Your mission
  • Be the safety standard bearer—follow procedures, elevate concerns, and keep areas clean and compliant with preventive maintenance expectations.
  • Plan and execute installations, removals, and relocations of CNC and manual equipment.
  • Use wiring diagrams, layouts, and electrical/mechanical prints to diagnose issues quickly and accurately.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems by reading schematics and determining precise repair actions.
  • Apply Lock Out/Tag Out without compromise when servicing any machine.
  • Support additional duties that drive uptime and reliability.
Schedule, location, compensation
  • Where: Alsip, IL (fully onsite)
  • When: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with weekends as needed
  • Starting pay: $36.40/hour
  • Role type: Full-time, hourly
What you’ll bring
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing setting working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery.
  • 3+ years maintaining CNC and manual machines; High School Diploma, Trade school certification, or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years troubleshooting/repairing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, plus heating, cooling, and general building systems.
  • 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints/mechanical prints and electrical schematics/wiring diagrams.
  • 2+ years using precision measurement tools (micrometers, gauges, meters, calipers, etc.).
How you operate
  • High mechanical aptitude; comfortable with precision tooling and industrial processes; committed to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Self-directed and collaborative in equal measure.
  • Strong communicator in English, written and spoken.
  • Analytical problem-solver who thrives in technical, fast-paced environments.
Preferred education

HS Diploma or GED Equivalent Preferred.

Physical demands and environment
  • Industrial floor conditions with noise, heat/cold, fumes, and chemicals.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs; kneel, bend, climb ladders, work in restricted spaces; stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfort at height (e.g., using a scissor lift).
Union partnership
  • Proud closed-shop partnership with District No. 8 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
  • 60 working days probationary period.
  • Union initiation and membership after probation.
  • Full benefits for union employees aligned to the agreement.
Compensation range

Pay Range: Starting pay will be $23.10 - $35.00 per hour based on experience. This is a full-time, hourly position.

We consider skills, experience, training, licensure/certifications, and other business needs in pay decisions. The posted range doesn’t include geographic differentials for the role’s location. It’s not typical to begin at the top of the range; each offer reflects individual factors.

Work arrangement

This role is fully based onsite at our Alsip, IL location.
