Job description

Great Plains Solutions Architect (Microsoft Dynamics GP)

Location: Remote
Duration: 4-Month Contract
Pay: Up to $100/hr (W2)
Start Date: July 2026

We''re looking for someone who knows Microsoft Dynamics GP inside and out and can step into a critical ERP initiative that''s already underway.

This isn''t a role where you''ll be configuring user accounts or supporting day-to-day ERP tickets. The focus is on architecture, integration planning, and helping the business figure out how systems should connect following a recent acquisition.

The environment is heavily customized, and there are some complex project accounting and billing processes involved, so we''re hoping to find someone who''s been around Dynamics GP long enough to understand how things work behind the scenes—not just at the application level.

What You''ll Be Working On

  • Designing integrations between Dynamics GP and newly acquired business systems
  • Working with business and technology teams to understand requirements and define solutions
  • Creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans
  • Supporting project accounting and billing workflows within GP
  • Helping development teams understand and execute integration designs
  • Identifying risks, dependencies, and potential gaps before implementation begins
  • Providing architectural guidance during a period of ERP leadership transition
  • Contributing to conversations around long-term ERP strategy and modernization

What We''re Hoping to Find

  • Strong Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience
  • Previous experience in a Solutions Architect, ERP Architect, or senior ERP consulting role
  • Experience designing data and application integrations
  • Solid SQL skills and comfort working with data
  • Understanding of project accounting processes
  • Ability to gather requirements and turn them into practical technical designs
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work comfortably with both technical and business stakeholders

Bonus Points For

  • Jovaco experience
  • SmartConnect experience
  • NetSuite exposure
  • Workday exposure
  • ERP migration or modernization projects
  • Acquisition or M&A integration work
  • Experience with APIs, SSIS, or middleware/integration tools

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • High-visibility role with direct access to business and technology leadership
  • Opportunity to help shape how systems come together following an acquisition
  • Meaningful architecture work rather than maintenance or support
  • Chance to influence future ERP decisions and platform strategy
  • Fully remote engagement with a collaborative team that''s looking for expertise, not bureaucracy

Skills: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Great Plains, ERP Architecture, SQL, SmartConnect, Jovaco, Project Accounting, NetSuite, Workday, Data Integration, Enterprise Applications

If you''ve spent years working with Dynamics GP and enjoy solving integration and architecture challenges, this is the type of project where your experience can have an immediate impact.
