Job description

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate mechanical power presses or hydraulic presses to produce high-quality parts from steel coils, adhering to work instructions and production standards.
Essential Functions:
· Obtain scheduled workloads from the coil line plan to the actual board.
· Identify part numbers from assigned work orders, retrieve the orange part pattern from the pattern rack, and compare it to the first piece produced to ensure proper quality.
· Submit the number of pieces produced on each work order in a timely manner following established procedures.
· Remove dies from presses and return them to the proper storage area.
· Set up new dies, square them in the press, and perform all other procedures required to set up the press for the assigned job.
· Verify that the correct steel is placed on the coil reel.
· Operate the press to manufacture parts according to work order requirements for quantity.
· Perform daily preventative maintenance on the press, flattener, and coil reel.
· Regularly check parts for quality according to established procedures.
· Follow all lock-out/tag-out procedures and lock storage policies.
· Report any nonconforming conditions to the supervisor.
· Follow 7-S policies, procedures, and meet goals.
· Adhere to all safety rules and policies, immediately reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
· Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
· Participate in all required training.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Return all tools and equipment to designated locations.
· Empty scrap buckets from the assigned coil line as needed.
· Move loads of completed parts to storage areas as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
·High school diploma or equivalent.
· Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to use a calculator.
· Possess or be able to obtain equipment certification.
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
· Possess manual dexterity and meet physical requirements for bending, twisting, and stacking parts in storage baskets in a piecework environment.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
· Ability to work effectively with a group of people with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
Salary and Schedule:
Salary: $20.00- $24.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6 am - 4:30 pm; Fridays dependent on workload.
