Postdoctoral Fellow - Ion Channels and Membrane Biology

The Yang Lab at Duke University School of Medicine seeks a creative, motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to explore how ion channels and lipid transporters control cell physiology and contribute to human disease. Our interdisciplinary team integrates electrophysiology, quantitative imaging, lipid biochemistry, structural biology, and model systems (neurons, blood cells, immune cells, trophoblasts, and more) to uncover membrane mechanisms and develop new therapeutic strategies.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • PhD in biophysics, cell biology, structural biology, physiology, neuroscience, or related fields. Strong experimental, analytical, and communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Patch-clamp electrophysiology, quantitative imaging, protein engineering, structural methods (cryo-EM, X-ray, MD modeling), lipid biochemistry, and/or disease models (rodents or organoid/organ-on-chip).
