Job description

Villa Duchesne is seeking an experienced Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach for the 2026 volleyball season, currently scheduled from August through November. The Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach will support the Head Coach in developing student-athletes both on and off the court while fostering a positive, competitive, and values-based athletic experience consistent with the mission of Villa Duchesne.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities.
  • Support the development of student-athletes' volleyball skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.
  • Promote a positive team culture that reflects the values and mission of Villa Duchesne.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, coaching staff, and school administration.
  • Ensure compliance with school, conference, and state athletic association policies and procedures.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team events.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes and represent Villa Duchesne with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or at least 60 hours of college credit.
  • Completion of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Fundamentals of Coaching certification required.
  • Previous volleyball coaching experience required, preferably at the high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for student-athletes.
