Job description

A large, well-established drywall contractor in the Charleston, SC market is seeking a skilled Drywall Estimator to join a fast-paced, collaborative estimating team. This organization handles a heavy mix of ground-up multifamily, conversions, hotels, condos, and commercial interiorsโ€”ranging from quick-turn small projects to large, complex builds exceeding $40M.

The team is growing rapidly, workload is high, and they are looking to bring on the right person as soon as possible.


Job Posting: Senior Estimator โ€“ Drywall

About the Role

This drywall firm is experiencing strong growth and is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its Charleston team. This role is designed for a proven estimator who can take ownership of complex projects, deliver accurate pricing, and be trusted to run independently after onboarding.

Youโ€™ll work closely with leadership to price and win work while helping scale the estimating function as the company continues to grow throughout the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates for light gauge framing and drywall projects

  • Price projects typically $1M+, with a focus on $3Mโ€“$5M scopes (larger projects a plus)

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and build complete bid packages

  • Collaborate with leadership during bid strategy and project closeout

  • Validate pricing accuracy and ensure estimates align with company standards

  • Support pursuit of new work, including healthcare and commercial projects

Required Experience & Skills
  • 2+ years of construction estimating experience

  • Demonstrated experience estimating projects north of $1M

  • Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff (OST) required

  • Experience with QuickBid preferred (or similar estimating software)

  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously

  • Stable work history (preference for candidates with solid tenure)

Preferred Experience
  • Experience estimating healthcare projects (hospitals, medical facilities)

  • Exposure to larger-scale projects ($5Mโ€“$10M+)

  • Background in drywall and/or light gauge framing
