Customer Service Representative/Tagger & Receiver

Purpose Of The Job

The ideal candidate will have a background in dry cleaning. The Customer Service Representative/Tagger & Receiver will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers, accurately receiving and tagging garments/items for cleaning, and assembling finished orders for release. This role bridges the customer interface and the production side of the facility to ensure smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction. Your role is crucial in providing exceptional service to our clients while contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Receive and record customer orders, ensure customer information, services requested, and special instructions are entered correctly.

• Inspect garments/items as they arrive: verify customer name, count, condition, note stains, tears or special instructions.

• Tag garments/items with identification (ticket number, customer name, garment count) and input into the tracking/management system.

• Sort and categorize items by service type (dry clean, wet clean, wash & fold, special handling) and convey to appropriate production area.

• Ensure proper labeling of items to avoid mis-routing or lost orders.

• After cleaning/pressing, assemble garments/items (hangers, covers, garment bags, bundles) in accordance with facility standards.

• Verify the order is complete, matches the customer's drop-off-ticket, and meets quality standards (no stains, correct number of items, properly finished).

• Prepare items for delivery: organize on racks, process hang tags, contact customers if there are any delay or issues.

• Process payments, issue receipts or invoices, answer routine questions about services, turnaround times, pricing, and policies.

• Resolve or escalate customer complaints or issues concerning lost items, damage, or service delays.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and cleanliness guidelines.

• Collaborate with team members/management to meet daily production goals and quality benchmarks.

Required Education, Knowledge And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent work experience).

• Previous experience in a dry-cleaning or garment-care environment is a plus.

• Proficient with basic computer operations and experience with Spot Program systems or order-tracking software preferred.

• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), attention to detail, ability to multi-task.

• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Physical Demands And Working Conditions

• Able to lift and carry up to 30 – 70 lbs and stand, walk, bend for extended periods.

• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for pressing and handling garments

Schedule Hours

• 10am start time until daily workload completion.

• Rotational weekends and holidays.

• Schedules will fluctuate based on need.
