Job Description

The 13th Judicial Circuit of Florida is looking for a talented individual that can fill the role of OPS Court Program Specialist II. 

SUMMARY: Perform administrative data management, risk assessments of participants entering Problem-Solving Courts Programs. Act as court case manager for these cases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Provide comprehensive data and case management support for criminal, dependency, and juvenile Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) cases.
• Attend court hearings to support the presiding judge and perform assigned case management responsibilities. Enter, update, and maintain accurate case-specific information in accordance with court requirements.
• Apply knowledge of the Florida Problem-Solving Courts Data Manual to ensure all required data elements are accurately captured and maintained
• Communicate with criminal, dependency, and juvenile PSC case participants, to obtain, verify, and update required information. Coordinate and communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, treatment providers, community agencies and other involved parties, as needed.
• Prepare reports, maintain spreadsheets and case records, draft correspondence, and perform a variety of administrative duties to support court operations.

Education and Training Guidelines

• High School diploma or GED. Relevant legal or digital court reporting experience preferred.
• EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field.
• SUBSTITUTIONS: Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school may substitute for two years of the recommended experience.

• Considerable knowledge of community treatment services, methodologies and practices.
• Considerable knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methods.
• Working knowledge of case management methods and procedures.
• Working knowledge of the criminal justice system for adults and juveniles, and family dependency process. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local and state officials and the general public.
• Ability to review and evaluate programs and projects.
• Ability to perform statistical and computational tasks and analyze data to write reports
• Incumbent must be professional in all regards.
