Familiarity with case management software, court filing systems, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) platforms is typically essential. Excellent interpersonal communication, impartiality, and negotiation skills help DROs foster resolution and manage sensitive situations effectively. In addition, maintaining neutrality while actively fostering resolution can be challenging, as it demands a careful balance of listening, analysis, and authority. However, these challenges are also opportunities to develop strong negotiation, mediation, and problem-solving skills that are highly valued across the legal and compliance sectors.
