Hospice CNA / Hospice AidePosition Summary

The Hospice Aide provides personal care and supportive services to hospice patients in their place of residence under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while supporting patients and families with compassionate end-of-life care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care according to the Hospice Plan of Care

  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, ambulation, and nutrition

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment

  • Observe, report, and document changes in patient condition and care provided

  • Practice infection control and safety procedures

  • Communicate respectfully and compassionately with patients, families, and staff

  • Assist with treatments and procedures according to hospice policy

  • Support the hospice philosophy and quality of care standards

  • Demonstrate effective time management and teamwork

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma preferred

  • Completion of CNA, Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or state-approved Nurse Aide Training/Competency Program

  • One year of experience preferred in hospice, home health, hospital, nursing home, or long-term care
