Job description

Position title: Driver/Courier

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide prompt and dependable daily courier services to ensure all pickup and delivery deadlines are consistently met for various government and commercial activities.
  • Emergency Courier Services: Perform unscheduled, on-call emergency courier/messenger trips to pick up and deliver items as directed by government personnel.
  • Cargo and Route Management: Exercise professional judgment and due care in the loading, arrangement, and securing of all cargo to prevent damage and select the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery and responsible use of the GFV.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, complete, and legible daily trip records/logs for all scheduled and emergency runs, documenting mileage, destination, time, and cargo details.
  • Vehicle Maintenance Coordination: Transport the GFV to the designated Public Works service center for routine and corrective maintenance as required or directed.
  • Supply Room: Provide backup support for the supply room clerk on an "as needed" basis, assisting with stocking, inventory, and distribution of supplies.
  • General Laborer: Assist government laborers with tasks on an "as needed" basis, as directed.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as evidenced by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
