Job description

Federated Co-op's, Inc. has an opening for a Propane Delivery Driver Apprentice based out of our Two Harbors location! This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the propane industry as we are willing to take and train the right person! As a Propane Delivery Driver Apprentice, you will learn how to deliver fuel to our patrons in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include driving a tank truck to deliver liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, install propane tanks, and assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems at customer locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Propane Delivery Driver Apprentice include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Delivery of product involves loading propane into the bulk truck and delivering into customers’ storage tanks in accordance to company, division, and location policy and procedures.
  • Drives and operates trucks, vehicles, equipment and tools safely and efficiently by following all current D.O.T. regulations, company policies, manufactures instructions, State and local laws and codes, and any other applicable laws, codes or regulations.
  • Tank Setting, Leak Testing, Tank Management and Repairs for LP gas systems as required by NFPA codes and regulations.
  • Assist Sales Department with calls and potential sales target areas.
  • Maintains and paints LP gas tanks at company and customer locations.
  • Inspect and maintain bulk facility, bulk truck and equipment continuously to ensure cleanliness, safety, proper operation and positive cooperative image.
  • Documents all work as required by company, division, and location policy.
  • Available and able to work on-call weeknights and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Previous Propane and CDL experience is preferred
  • Must have a valid Driver's license.
  • Active CDL with endorsements preferred
  • Able to obtain a Class B CDL License with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move more than 50 pounds.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee will manually dig trenches to install LP gas lines. Employee will lift and carry cement blocks.

Compensation Range for Two Harbors Propane is $25 - $30 / hour. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
