Position: Test Engineer

Location: Ashburn , VA

Duration: 11 Months (Temp to Perm)



Job Description:

Responsibilities include overall integration and testing of In-Home Networking products (Broadband Home Routers, Set Top Boxes, digital media devices, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless devices etc.) and services. Perform technical integration for products in a lab environment and provide full lifecycle support.

Perform testing activities, including analyzing technical test requirements, writing test plans, test case execution, creating test exit reports, defect tracking and troubleshooting/triaging issues. Participate in and/or conduct periodic status meetings with supplier and client on testing and defect status. 

Provide production support to track, replicate, and troubleshoot issues and help drive solutions. Work directly with test teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and overall functioning of the solution in the lab and production. 


Required Skills & Experience: 

BS degree in a technical field - preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics. 

Advanced technical skills in Network Security and Vulnerability testing and general knowledge in other areas of In-Home networking. 

2 -3 years' experience with embedded device pen-testing, network vulnerability testing (Firewall/Router/Switch), vulnerability research, firmware and/or source code analysis, WebApp auditing (OWASP Top 10), Protocol Fuzzing and encryption & hashing 

Experience with tools such as Metasploit, Defensics, Core Impact, BURP Suite, OWASP-ZAP, Wireshark, NMAP, Nessus, CDRouter and BreakingPoint 

6 years minimum experience in systems integration & testing or a related field. 

5 years' experience with the TCP/IP protocol suite (IP, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ARP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, SFTP, HTTP, LAN and WAN, Routers, Switches, Throughput and Latency, etc.) 

5 years' experience effectively preparing and documenting interface specifications, test plans, and test reports. 

5 years' experience with Linux (Kali or Backtrack preferred) and Windows systems and software deployment. 

5 years' experience with software architecture and programming concepts (Python or Perl preferred)) 

Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams, with vendors/suppliers, and contractors. 

Strong verbal and written communications skills 


Desired Skills & Experience: 

MS degree in a technical field -preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics. 

5 years hands-on experience configuring, integrating, operating, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing In-Home Router/STB/DVR configurations. 


Certifications: 

CEH, SSCP, OSCP, GSEC, CISSP
